Most Recruiting Professionals at an organisation usually have their own techniques and strategies of sourcing talent. The commonly used ones are Proactive and Reactive Recruiting, but most corporates generally implement the Reactive recruiting method as against a Proactive approach. Why is that so? Is a question that most Recruiters and organisations need to ask, especially when a Proactive approach is clearly the preferred choice.
It’s time we found out why Proactive Recruiting is preferable against Reactive Recruiting. You might have come across our previous post on what is Reactive and Proactive Recruiting? If not then here’s a recap, “Proactive Recruiting is when Recruiters have already laid out a plan that takes care of issues that arise suddenly, while Reactive Recruiting is when Recruiters haven’t prepared a backup plan in an attempt to prevent issues from arising.” Here are some reasons as to why a proactive approach is a better choice.
Create a Positive Reputation online
To begin with the simplest reason, you need to create a positive reputation online. And the way to be proactive is to willingly post information about your company and its culture so that you are able to attract candidates. Once you’ve built a reputation, your company is recognised and you are bound to capture more candidates.
Engage candidates in order to drive them to your website
Apart from posting information about how great it is to work at a firm like yours, you also need to engage your audience accordingly. So when you post text, videos, pictures, blogs you need to ensure that the audience is engaged to attract more crowds.
Create and rely on your own Sourcing Program
There are several job boards that can assist you in creating your own database of talent, so if you put in that extra effort you can use it to fill vacant positions that keep cropping up. This simplifies your task a great deal, as you already have a pool of talent that you can fall back on to meet your requirements.
Monitor your internal teams
The key to a successful business is how well it monitors its internal teams; therefore it is essential that you implement the Social Media monitoring tools that are freely available. These tools will definitely give you analytics of your presence on social media. Once you have all of the information you require you will then be able to put in measures that can prevent issues from taking place.
Follow Communities and people in the field
This is another way to monitor and check what the trending topics are and to create topics that your audience is searching and interested in reading and learning about. You also need to follow these communities and people who have similar interests.
These are just a few pointers that I’ve come across but I’m sure that you have some pointers to add, so let us know by mentioning them in our comments section and we’ll be glad to include them in our next post.
